Brief History of CELTECH College


  The historical growth of CENTRAL LUZON COLLEGE OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY (CELTECH College) is said to be the nearly impossible dream to have blossomed into reality. Unlike the other schools, the CELTECH College had a very modest beginning. Each stage of its metamorphic growth was marked with sacrifices whose rewarding efforts contributed into the making of institution as one of the towering centers of knowledge today.


  The then ARTISTIC TECHNICAL VOCATIONAL SCHOOL (now CENTRAL LUZON COLLEGE OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY) is a by-word in the field of professional and technological education. It is considered the biggest school of its kind in Region III. It will not rest on its laurel for the lady behind its birth, enterprising and motherly at that, knows that somewhere, some place, there were some kindly souls who needed vocational education. This has always been the immortal commitment of the CENTRAL LUZON COLLEGE OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY. To be where it can be of service.



  Indeed, a tradition of excellence has always been the guiding force of CELTECH College. To keep its position as one of the top schools in the region, pursue its philosophy of training the youth towards excellence and global competitiveness and achieve collegiate status, CELTECH College continually upgrades its resources.



  Three years later, AVS opened its Angeles branch and had its first commencement exercise with 205 graduates in 1970 AVS technical, vocational and secretarial courses.



  On May 13, 1973, the AVS management, through the initiative of then Branch Administrator EVP Renato P. Legaspi, acquired a lot and building at 1860 Rizal Avenue, East Bajac-Bajac Olongapo City, to house technical and allied vocational course classrooms as well as its administrative and accounting offices.



  On June 12, 1976, The Angeles City branch of AVS was formally opened to serve the office workers, dependents of American and Filipino Servicemen and employees of the Clark Air Base and its envisions.



  Additional Fashion, Electronics, Communication and Secretarial Courses were opened at the Olongapo City branch to better serve the increasing demand of American and Filipino servicemen and their dependents from the Subic Naval Base Complex and its environ.



  In 1981, through the initiative of then Executive Vice President Renato P. Legspi, the Board of Trustees changed the name of Artistic Technical Vocational School to Central Luzon Technical Institute effective January 7, 1981. At the same time, more maritime courses were added to its programs.



  The next year, the Kalaklan College Complex not and buildings was acquired by CELTECH College.



  On May 20, 1984, the name Central Luzon Technical Institute was changed to Central Luzon Institute of Technology.



  On September 9, 1999, The Central Luzon Institute of Technology amended its name to Central Luzon College of Technology.



  Central Luzon College of Technology changed its name to Central Luzon College of Science and Technology as per SEC Reg. No. A199914149, on November 9, 2001.
